Shanklin Volume 2
The second in a three part series on growing up in Shanklin. This film is presented by Lucy Morgan where she looks at the 1949 visit of the Atteel Labour cabinet secret meeting at the Manor House. The first Isle of Wight Car Rally, a special Shanklin tourist board promotional video narrated by Cowes TV personality Cliff Michelmore. TV Sports presenter the late Dickie Davies takes a trip back to Shanklin C of E school (St. Blasius) and where he grew up in Collingworth Road. Carnival Queens, Choir at St. Pauls and being at Grove road Grammer School. Brian Scovall looks back at his early sports reporting, while Melvyn Hayes remembers being at Shanklin Theatre and his life on the Island.
